It isn't long, and Greg asks Brenda to marry him. When Gale learns of the engagement, she is furious and walks out on Brenda and Robert. Brenda marries Greg, but soon begins to really fathom why her mother left. Brenda starts to rebel, and that is when everything really begins to change. Suddenly, she is learning that things she believes to be concrete aren't, and she finds herself questioning everything.
