In the summer of 1977, a recent college graduate, Benny O'Shay, takes a job working the graveyard shift (11pm-7am) at a rundown, Mom & Pop convenience store near the college campus. At the same time he's hired, the state's mental hospital, due to budget cuts, has had to release numerous marginal patients to either fend for themselves or get by with the help of family and friends. Many of these former patients now live in the same neighborhood as Benny's store. Oasis is a night-world where the thin line that separates what may or may not be thought of as normal behavior is erased by the power of friendship, acceptance and love.
