The Outlaw: An Historical Romance is a novel written by Mrs. S. C. Hall and published in 1847. The story is set in 16th century England and follows the life of a young nobleman named Lord William de Mowbray, who is falsely accused of treason and forced to flee from his homeland. He becomes an outlaw and is forced to live a life of hiding and danger. Along the way, he meets and falls in love with a young woman named Adela, who is also on the run from her own troubles. Together, they navigate the dangers of their new lives and fight for justice and freedom.
