Out Of Due Time is a historical novel written by Mrs. Wilfrid Ward and first published in 1906. The story is set in the early 19th century and follows the life of a young woman named Mary Llewellyn. Mary is the daughter of a Welsh farmer and dreams of a life beyond the confines of her small village. When she meets and falls in love with a young lawyer named Francis Westwood, Mary's life takes an unexpected turn. Francis is a devout Catholic and Mary, who was raised in the Protestant faith, is drawn to his beliefs and eventually converts to Catholicism. Their love is tested as they face opposition from Mary's family and the wider community who view Catholicism with suspicion and hostility. As Mary and Francis navigate their relationship, they also become embroiled in the political and social upheavals of the time, including the Catholic Emancipation Act and the rise of Chartism. Out Of Due Time is a richly detailed and emotionally charged novel that explores themes of love, faith, and social justice. It offers a vivid portrayal of life in rural Wales and the complex religious and political landscape of early 19th century Britain. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
