Ourobomundus. A gargantuan cosmic serpent travelling through the depths of the Void. A world, thirty-thousand miles in length and a thousand miles in diameter. Breathing. Undulating. Alive.
But dying.
Zara The Imperishable cares naught for life. After her husband and daughter were taken from her by The Virulence, a plague that swept Ourobomundus and nearly extinguished the human race, she cares nothing for her existence, throwing herself into every danger. But, cruel irony, she seemingly cannot die-her life is charmed. Thus, she has become a tool of the Vermillion Emperor to rid the world of threats.
But now, the world itself is dying. Only with the Jewel of Blackest Night is there any hope of averting the death of the Great Serpent. But to obtain such a prize, Zara will have to make a perilous journey across the most dangerous dominions of their world, and confront a spectre from her past who has lain long buried in the serpent's guts...
