Spencer L. Duffy offers readers an intimate portrait of Lorine C. McLeod, the distinguished humanitarian. Her endless devotion to helping others primarily through the United Order of the Tents is legendary. In the first biography of McLeod, Duffy organizes a generous overview showing how McLeod believes that the best way to serve God is by helping others. Now in the autumn of her life, she is President Emeritus of her local chapter of the United Order of the Tents. Her biography is a fitting testament to their theme of doing everything to help the sick and console the bereaved, and to instill purity and love in our hearts. By promoting sisterhood among the group and the group's posterity, says Duffy, McLeod is a manifestation of how to invoke the favor and guidance of Almighty God.
