The Ornaments of the Ministers is a book written by Percy Dearmer and published in 1920. The book provides a detailed examination of the ornaments and vestments worn by ministers in the Anglican Church during the early 20th century. Dearmer explores the historical and theological significance of these ornaments, as well as their practical use in worship services. He also discusses the controversies surrounding the use of ornaments in the Church, particularly in relation to the Protestant Reformation and the Oxford Movement. The book includes illustrations and photographs of various ornaments and vestments, as well as a glossary of terms. Overall, The Ornaments of the Ministers is a comprehensive study of the role of visual symbolism in Anglican worship and a valuable resource for students of church history and liturgy. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
