Origin of names and orographic meanings of Pucallpa in the contribution to the semantics of Amazonian-Ucayali Spanish 2008, has had a process of research and information gathering in order to identify the names, compare and record their etymology, analyze their basic sense and their contextual sense of the rivers, lakes and streams of Pucallpa.The study of the names and orographic meanings of Pucallpa is important in the sense that it deepens the concept of nomination and rescues the true meaning of the words referred to the collective and popular designation of the rivers, lakes and streams existing in Pucallpa.The research has made it possible to identify the origin of the orographic nominations of Pucallpa, establishing the relationship of the name with the nominated object, prevailing the contextual sense to the base sense, that is to say, what gathers as a characteristic the nominated object are the referents that surround it.
