A delightful new cumulative picture book tale is a rollicking read-aloud for families and educators of young children.
Fresh off the success of her debut picture book, Cat's Don't Like Baths, author Lulu Edge has followed up with a sweet and silly story with a fun cumulative aspect that children will love. Filled with stunning illustrations by Anastasia Khmeleveska, Orange Fox on a Blue Rug is about an adorable fox who encounters many surprises as he readies for his cozy nap.
Reminiscent of the children's classic The Napping House, Edge's story builds upon numbers with each painterly spread as various animals and insects are added to the fox's tottery tower. Whether it's pigs dancing jigs balanced on eight wooden sticks, or nine yellow chicks on top of the sticks, children will delight in poring over every detailed illustration waiting for the next set of animals to join the precarious pile...until a tiny feather brings mayhem to the mix.
With its inviting and predictive text and repetitive language, Orange Fox on a Blue Rug is a book that children will love returning to again and again while families and educators will enjoy the read-aloud nature of its sequencing story.
