In the year 2023, we published the first edition of this booklet. There we presented our version of the big crunch, in which the universe ended in reverse time. We consider the crunch to be the primary idea of our work. In the second edition, we added more explanatory material.

In this third edition, we offer more substantiating material and a speculative unified field theory.

We argue that space and time are basically man-made constructions. Since the laws of nature hold true in both directions of time, we can choose either direction to be the primary direction of time. This allows us to replace the idea of the big bang with that of the big crunch. We also discuss the question of what is real.

In regard to the nature of life, we bring in the many-worlds theory of quantum mechanics and the nature of consciousness.
