On The Nature And Elements Of The External World: Or Universal Immaterialism Fully Explained And Newly Demonstrated is a philosophical treatise written by Thomas Collyns Simon. The book presents a theory of universal immaterialism, which argues that the external world is not made up of physical matter but rather of mental perceptions. Simon argues that our senses do not give us direct access to physical objects but rather create mental representations of them. He also argues that the laws of nature are not objective but rather are mental constructs that allow us to make sense of our experiences. The book is divided into three parts: the first part presents the theory of universal immaterialism, the second part examines the implications of the theory for various philosophical problems, and the third part addresses objections to the theory. Overall, On The Nature And Elements Of The External World is a thought-provoking work that challenges traditional views of the nature of reality. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
