The larvae eat the pod clean, sometimes two or three occurring in a single pod; they then eat their way out and pupate in the ground. In Europe it is found on Scrophularia and Verbascum (Beutenmiiller 1890). 8705. Gymnetron teter Sch. Pound in abundance on the stalk of mullen (Verbascum thapsus). The larva lives in the seed pods (Beutenmiiller 1890). Collected on Mesadenia tuberosa and Aster at Ladonia, Texas, May 17, by F. C. Bishopp, and on Achillea lanulosa at Ardmore, Indian Ter...
