OH NO! is a children's book, written and illustrated by Dorothy Cox, teacher, artist and grandmother. Heart warming verses inspire young minds to confront scary dreams and find happy endings. Have you had a dream that went on and on about trying to get ready to go to school, only to have things go so awry that you missed your school bus? If so, you know how relieved Peter is, when he discovers in his dream that it is a Saturday in August and he can sleep in awhile longer. The story is brought to life with Dorothy's artistic touch to dramatize little Peter's dream and shake up his morning routine getting ready to go to school. Wild toothpaste, an empty cereal box, spiders, a cat, coat and hat are Dorothy's characters scripted into Peter's wake up call. Young children relate to this cast of actors, the same cast they confront on their morning jaunt from the bed to the bus. This story read by Dorothy to her grandchildren can be shared by parents and grandparents everywhere to help young minds rest, when confronted with a topsy turvy world and a blurry line between a dream and a bus stop. Dorothy's verse and artwork help young minds see that Peter's shout of On No! in distress is but a step along the path to a comforting Oh Yes!
