Ogre, a fourteen year old orphan and a servant to King Nigel and his daughter, Princess Caroline, is banished from the Palace for misbehaving. Apprenticed to the royal Hunt Master, Ogre is delighted to be included in the hunt for a real ogre, until he is captured by the foul beast. During his captivity, Ogre must reassess what courage and honor truly mean. Princess Caroline, meanwhile, must accept that her father has become a tyrant, and must find a way to wrest power from him before the country plunges into civil war. When King Nigel takes an army to hunt down Ogre, he sets in motion forces that can't be stopped. Ogre and the Princess find themselves unlikely allies in a fight against time. Can they save the nation from civil war? Can they save themselves from the hangman's noose? This YA fantasy has strong male and female leads and a powerful and engaging story arc that will appeal to fantasy lovers of all ages.
