After the war was over, in 1783 he married Winney Ventis and the couple went west, to Columbia County, Georgia, then Jasper County, Georgia and finally in 1819 to old Autauga County, Alabama, where he is buried in the old Moore Cemetery, an Alabama Historic Cemetery that today is in Chilton County.
