Now that Dreams Are Born is a passionate volume of poetry, which celebrates the scintillating beauty of the world of children. The dominant crusade in these poems is the challenge to a violent and repressive world to give peace, founded on compassion, tenderness and kindness a chance. There is an assured future for the child whose place is both imperishable and inviolable. There also is a committed empathy and a robust identification of the poet with the fortune of children with a consistent poetic denunciation of violence and the use of weapons to further repress the child. The poet engages the young generation to the invention of a new world without hate and without war. Written in simple and elegant style, the poet brings us to see a future that will crumble before our eyes if childhood is not founded on love, honour and tenderness. Ify's ability to slow you down and make you look again at that which you have hurried past is one of her salient skills.
