Matt wasn't expecting much from the Halloween party - just another night of cheap beer, awkward costumes, and maybe a flirt or two. Still single and dragged out by his friends, he arrives at the house party dressed in the nerdiest of costumes, ready to fake a few smiles and call it a night early.
Then he sees her.
Jill. Dressed as a 90s goddess, beautiful and effortlessly magnetic. When their eyes meet, the rest of the room falls away. She's smart, funny, mysterious - and somehow, instantly familiar. For a few perfect minutes, Matt forgets everything else.
But perfection shatters quickly. Jill is taken.
She has a boyfriend, never mind every other guy at the party having designs on her too. The rest of the night spirals into a tense mix of flirtation and restraint, secrets whispered over music, long glances that say everything their words can't and explosive revelations upstairs in the bathroom.
As the clock ticks toward midnight, Matt is faced with a choice: walk away from the spark he can't ignore - or take the risk of discovering what's really behind Jill's dazzling smile and the haunted look in her eyes.
Because not all masks come off at midnight... and some secrets are darker than others.
New Beginnings is a moody, slow-burn romance with a twist of suspense - where costumes may hide more than faces, and one night can change everything.
