Montgomery hacks into police computers to follow any investigation against him, but unaware of the net closing around him, he oversteps, undertaking the multiple murder of human traffickers in central Manchester. With the help of a junior officer, DS Connor discovers a lead to his whereabouts.In the subsequent raid Montgomery takes Fox and Connor hostage in an armoured-car, allowing him to escape, first to Sheffield, then across the Channel. Their survival of that ordeal triggers declarations beyond professional boundaries and both Fox and Connor find the love and companionship that has been missing from their lives for so long.
