Notre Dame's John Zahm: American Catholic Apologist And Educator is a biographical work written by Ralph Edward Weber. The book explores the life and accomplishments of John Zahm, a prominent figure in American Catholicism during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Zahm was a priest, scientist, and educator who played a significant role in shaping the Catholic Church's intellectual and cultural contributions to American society. The book delves into Zahm's early life, his education, his religious and scientific pursuits, and his work as an educator at the University of Notre Dame. It also examines Zahm's efforts to reconcile Catholicism with modern science and his advocacy for the study of evolution within the Church. Through a detailed account of Zahm's life and work, Weber provides readers with a comprehensive understanding of the man who helped shape American Catholicism during a critical period in its history. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
