Notes on the Life of Jesus Christ is a verse by verse study of the Gospels, comparing the parallel passages in the chronological framework of the HCSB Harmony of the Gospels. The preacher, Bible teacher and serious student of the Bible will appreciate the concise, yet thorough, non-technical treatment of each verse. Pertinent historical information is included, and many references are provided for those who desire more information. A listing of additional Scripture references and a listing of subjects are included. Principles of Biblical interpretation are included throughout the book to facilitate the study of any selected passage. Notes on the Life of Jesus Christ assumes that the Four Gospels are the Holy Spirit inspired writings of the men whose names are on them. Sprague bases his comments on a solid, conservative approach to the Scriptures. However, Notes on the Life of Jesus Christ will challenge some traditional approaches to preaching and teaching certain Gospel passages.
