Notes Of The Mexican War offers a firsthand account of the Mexican-American War (1846-1848) through the eyes of J. Jacob Oswandel, a soldier in the United States Army. This volume comprises a collection of incidents, adventures, everyday proceedings, and letters penned during the conflict. Oswandel provides a ground-level perspective on the war, detailing the challenges, triumphs, and mundane aspects of military life. Readers gain insight into the daily experiences of soldiers, the strategies employed during battles, and the overall atmosphere of the war.
This historical record provides valuable primary source material for students and researchers interested in military history and 19th-century America. Oswandel's observations capture the spirit of the era, offering a glimpse into the lives of those who participated in this pivotal conflict.
