The book is a personal account of Cliffe's experiences as an angler in Wales, where he spent much of his time exploring the mountains, valleys, and solitudes of the region. The book is divided into several chapters, each of which focuses on a different aspect of Cliffe's experiences. He writes about the different rivers and streams he fished in, the different types of fish he caught, and the various techniques he used to catch them.
