Praise for this book on Goodreads:
Noir Is My New Weird is a collection of 40 flash fiction, prose poetry and mind-expanding worlds largely built and inspired by a single daily word prompt. What the author has produced here is remarkable in terms of variety, style, and imagination. From spectacular to seemingly mundane settings, come unforgettable characters. From unforgettable characters come dilemmas and questions as old as history and as young as the future. [...] The heady mix of 'new weird' and noir reminded me of one of the greatest science fiction writers, M John Harrison's novel, Nova Swing. And I can't give it higher praise than that. Buy if you want something different. Something to make you smile, or think, or dream. Something you can easily read and return to time and time again. From the Preface:

The title is meant as a pun, but it also reflects the type of prose you will find in this book: often noir and mostly weird - my kind of noir and weird, that is. This particular mix of both genres doesn't necessarily adhere to the prescribed formulas of neo-noir fiction or new weird. [...] From aliens in pawnshops, oysters turning grit into poetry, and cybernetic con men trapped in their own funerals to the eternal noir loop in an administrative purgatory, this collection is an unvarnished kaleidoscope of dark weirdness - written from a place of sudden inspiration with untamed creative freedom and no particular reader in mind but myself.
I guess what I'm saying here is: Welcome to my noir weird roller coaster. I hope you'll enjoy the ride as much as I did.
