Please and Thank you are the magic words. As the 2nd book of the series, we develop the relationship between the main character (Noah) and his stuffed dinosaur and best friend (Blue). Noah and Blue are on a search for their bag of manners and find themselves in a far-off land where manners actually do grow on trees.
Noah and Blue: Big Lessons for Little Heart book series was born out of the desire to create fun stories with digestible moral lessons for young children. Noah and Blue: the Search for the Missing Manners is book two from this series.
Throughout the story, you and your child can:
- visualize examples of friendship (depicted in several images)
- explore diversity (through images of Noah's diverse friends and family)
- develop your child's vocabulary (perfect for ages 2-6)
- boost your child's imagination (learning with imaginary friends)
- improve their concentration and focus (a five minute read with varying sentence lengths)
- help your child develop listening skills (as they wait to see how the story unfolds)
While reading this book we suggest that you:
- Read slowly so your little one can understand the story.
- Read expressively, using different voices for different characters, and raising or lowering your voice as appropriate.
- Talk about the pictures. Point to the examples of manners and try to add your own.
- Ask open-ended questions: What do you think will happen next? This helps your child to think about the story and to ask questions.
- Use your little one's name as a character in the book.
- Encourage your child to point out all of the vibrant colors.
- Have fun! Show your toddler that reading is enjoyable.
