The Great Chicago Fire of 1871 sets this story of two people in motion.
The dashing Nickolaus sees his aspirations smashed by his foolhardiness.
The impassioned Olive sees her castles in the air toppled like a house of cards.
Though they both are caught up by the fire, it will be in another time and another place when, together, they will feel its impact on their lives.
Author Warren Gerds more than creates this story as an opera in words. He is a critic at large, so he takes the reader to a full evening at the theater.
Through imagination, the reader experiences a world premiere from the best seat in the house.
You are warmly welcomed to a fine theater, swept into the story, visit fascinating displays at intermission, embrace the comical and touching romance, and, on the way home, go over fascinating touches of the evening with your companion.
From the comfort of your favorite spot to read a book, you take in an electrifying evening out and discover a wildly funny and compelling story along with your best friend - the mind.
