A New View of Insanity: The Duality of the Mind Proved by the Structure, Functions and Diseases of the Brain is a book written by A. L. Wigan. In this book, the author presents a new perspective on the nature of insanity, arguing that the mind is composed of two distinct parts. Wigan uses evidence from the structure, functions, and diseases of the brain to support this theory. The book is divided into several chapters, each of which explores a different aspect of the duality of the mind. Wigan begins by discussing the history of insanity and the various theories that have been proposed to explain it. He then goes on to describe the structure of the brain and how it relates to mental processes.Throughout the book, Wigan presents case studies and examples to illustrate his points. He also discusses the various diseases and disorders that can affect the brain and lead to mental illness. Wigan argues that by understanding the duality of the mind, we can better understand and treat mental illness.Overall, A New View of Insanity is a thought-provoking book that challenges traditional views of mental illness.
