Navaho And Zuni For Christ: Fifty Years Of Indian Missions is a book written by J.C. De Korne that chronicles his experiences as a missionary among the Navajo and Zuni tribes of the American Southwest. The book covers a period of fifty years, from the early 1900s to the mid-20th century, during which De Korne worked tirelessly to spread the Christian faith among these indigenous peoples. The book is divided into several chapters, each of which focuses on a different aspect of De Korne's work as a missionary. The first chapter provides an overview of the Navajo and Zuni cultures and their religious beliefs, while the subsequent chapters describe De Korne's efforts to establish churches, schools, and hospitals in the region.Throughout the book, De Korne emphasizes the challenges he faced as a missionary, including language barriers, cultural differences, and opposition from traditionalists within the tribes. He also describes the many successes he achieved, such as converting hundreds of people to Christianity and helping to improve the health and welfare of the indigenous communities. In addition to its historical and cultural significance, Navaho And Zuni For Christ is a testament to the power of faith and perseverance in the face of adversity. It offers a unique perspective on the history of Christian missions in the American Southwest and provides valuable insights into the lives and beliefs of the Navajo and Zuni peoples. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
