My Shelter In the Stars tells the story of an eight-year-old boy who has to deal with his father's alcoholism and violence. The child finds strength and comfort in an inner universe, on an imaginary star where he is welcomed by a mysterious benefactor who becomes his friend and a secret guide.

Through his love and his understanding, the planet keeper will free the little man from his loneliness, his shame and his silence. He will also help him cope with the tragedies that happen almost daily at home. Will the boy thus discover in himself a life-saving path and a happy destiny?

Coco Bellapianta sheds light on the unsaid misery of children in complex family situations in a unique way; she combines the realism of a story, which is sometimes brutal, in a context of a soft dreamlike universe.

This very original book may be a liberating source of identification for adults with wounded childhoods, and a tool for caregivers and those who surround children trapped in family suffering.

This work of fiction is meant for adults and skilled professionals, and with young or sensitive audiences, it is suggested that it be read with an appropriate person to guide them, as the story includes the topic of child abuse which might be triggering to some (the responsibility rests with the buyer of the book and readers).

It was translated for English-speaking readers by the French author who wanted the English text to be as close as possible to the French one. It may not be perfect, but it is crafted with Love.

My Shelter In the Stars is a generous, deep book that offers hope and Light.
