My Return to Life

My Return to Life is a romance story that developed in somewhat unusual circumstances. Mona is a nightclub singer and has reached what she feels is a dead end in her life. On the early hours of Sunday morning, when she has decided to commit suicide, she sits on a park bench waiting for her last sunrise. She discovers she isn't alone when John Spellman approaches her. John has come to the city to find a live-in caretaker for his three children. After John discovers her plan, he calls her a coward and challenges her with the comment, Others have a worse lot in life than you do. She ultimately agrees to stay with him for a year at his farm in the Virginia mountains. The story continues as she learns to love his children, the attraction to John grows, and her desire for life returns.
