A raw and empowering depiction of vulnerability, self-analysis and growth.
What at first seemed to be seasonal depression quickly spiraled into a traumatic and crippling case of anxiety, that nearly ended in suicide. Utilizing vivid imagery, this poetic memoir captures the honest story of a young woman's struggle to conquer the darkness of depression.
In her debut poetry book, My Favorite Color is Yellow, the self-published writer, Kayla Eloise, recounts the emotional turmoil of being confronted with such unexpected irrationalities in her early twenties. Each poem portrays a different emotion or realization within her experience and does so in order of occurrence. Journey through her mind as she embarks on an adventure of bewilderment, awareness, effort and healing, while the world around her remains oblivious.
