Life is tough for everyone, for a number of reasons, and no one under the sun is exempt from hurt, grief, or disappointment. For me, life dealt me a cruel hand at a young age, and for a while, it seemed like those emotions were all I knew. Every day was a struggle to get through the next 24 hours. Trouble followed me. Society judged me. Mental and physical abuse consumed me. Pain was a constant friend. I learned early on how to survive, how to cope, and how to persevere, even when the world seemed to turn its back on me.
As I look back on my journey of hardships and all the challenges I've overcome, I realize how each one prepared me. Every trial equipped me to keep going and inspire the next person to move forward. Every lesson was an opportunity to learn, grow, and mature. Every moment of trauma and defeat shaped me into the man I am today-stronger, wiser, and more resilient.
