Mr. Stubbs's Brother is a heartwarming children's novel written by James Otis. The story follows the adventures of two young boys, Jack and Joe, who stumble upon a mysterious monkey named Mr. Stubbs. They soon discover that Mr. Stubbs is actually the brother of a famous circus monkey, and they become determined to reunite the two brothers. Along the way, they encounter a cast of colorful characters, including a kind-hearted farmer and a mischievous group of monkeys. As they navigate through various obstacles and challenges, Jack and Joe learn valuable lessons about friendship, perseverance, and the importance of family. With its charming characters and engaging plot, Mr. Stubbs's Brother is a delightful read for children of all ages.1882. A Sequel to Toby Tyler. Illustrated. The story begins: Why, we could start a circus jest as easy as a wink, Toby, cause you know all about one; an all youd have to do would be to tell us fellers what to do, an wed tend to the rest. Yes; but you see we haint got a tent, or hosses, or wagons, or nothin, an I dont see how you could get a circus up that way; and the speaker hugged his knees as he rocked himself to and fro in a musing way on the rather sharp point of a large rock, on which he had seated himself in order to hear what his companion had to say that was so important.
