A chance encounter with cyclists brings horrifying news from Muskegon - people are turning violent, attacking and killing others. Chaos ensues when a nearby explosion rocks their world, seemingly originating from a BP station. Ron and Sorina, drawing on their Midwestern resilience, must now band together with other survivors, strategize and defend themselves against this fast-approaching menace. The struggle intensifies when a member of their group comes into contact with an infected's blood, raising questions about trust, survival, and the ultimate price of humanity.
