Mervyn Clitheroe is a novel written by W. Harrison Ainsworth. It was published in 1851 and tells the story of the titular character, Mervyn Clitheroe, a young man who inherits a large fortune from his father. Despite his wealth, Mervyn is unhappy and discontented with his life. He sets out on a journey to discover the true meaning of happiness and fulfillment. Along the way, he encounters a variety of characters, including a group of smugglers, a beautiful young woman named Clara, and a mysterious stranger who seems to know more about Mervyn than he does himself. As Mervyn travels through the English countryside, he learns valuable lessons about love, loyalty, and the importance of following one's own path in life. The novel is written in a vivid, descriptive style and is known for its engaging characters and exciting plot twists. It is considered a classic of Victorian literature and is still widely read and enjoyed today. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
