Memories of Racing and Hunting is a memoir written by Portland, Duke of, a British peer and avid sportsman. The book is a collection of personal anecdotes and reflections on the author's experiences in horse racing and fox hunting, two of his favorite pastimes. Throughout the book, Portland shares stories of his encounters with famous horses and jockeys, as well as his own successes and failures on the racetrack. He also discusses the thrill of the chase in fox hunting and the camaraderie that comes with the sport. In addition to his sporting pursuits, Portland also touches on his family history and his role as a member of the British aristocracy. Written in a conversational style, Memories of Racing and Hunting offers a unique glimpse into the world of British sports and culture in the early 20th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
