Making a Tyranny - An Imaginary ScenarioTyranny is becoming more common, and results from and is maintained by propaganda, corruption, and violence as pointed out by Ruth Ben-Ghiat in Strongmen. From a wide array of possibilities, Daniel Bull constructs a scenario of how this might come to pass in America and soon. His intent is to show how easily this might become reality. Bull then composes an equally fictional account of how such an outcome might be avoided and how difficult this might be. If right-wing extremists gain power, they will be difficult to dislodge. Americans will lose far more than the right to vote, and our democracy may end. This fictional account built by Bull is ultimately hopeful, for without hope, we are lost.
