Madison's Square Garden

A ten year-old grows up on a family farm in the Ozark Mountains riding her horse and daydreaming about owning a bicycle and doing what her friends do in town. Madison's Square Garden is delightful, realistic, filled with excitement, love, and disappointment. Hard work teaches her the values and restrictions of her very unusual pets which are increasing daily. Through reading and guidance she tackles her fear of snakes. She happens upon and talks her grandfather into catching what the townspeople consider to be the largest rattlesnake ever found in South-western Missouri.
