My Story: By Anson Mills, Brigadier General, U.S.A. is a memoir written by Anson Mills, a prominent military figure in the United States during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The book was first published in 1918 and chronicles Mills' life and career, from his early days as a cadet at West Point to his service in the American Civil War and his subsequent rise through the ranks of the U.S. Army.Mills' story is one of dedication, perseverance, and service to his country. He provides a firsthand account of some of the most significant battles and campaigns of his time, including the Siege of Vicksburg and the Indian Wars of the American West. He also offers insights into the political and social climate of the era, including the tensions between the North and South leading up to the Civil War and the challenges faced by the U.S. Army in dealing with Native American tribes.Throughout the book, Mills reflects on his experiences and shares his thoughts on leadership, strategy, and the nature of war.
