Music For The Millions: The Kimball Piano And Organ Story is a comprehensive account of the history and legacy of the Kimball Piano and Organ Company. The book, written by Van Allen Bradley, delves into the company's founding in the late 19th century, its rise to prominence as a leading manufacturer of pianos and organs, and its eventual decline in the mid-20th century. The book explores the impact of the Kimball brand on American music culture, highlighting the company's contributions to the development of popular music genres such as ragtime, jazz, and blues. It also discusses the role of Kimball instruments in the growth of the church music movement and the emergence of the modern recording industry.Throughout the book, Bradley provides detailed accounts of the company's key figures, including founder William Wallace Kimball and his son, F. R. Kimball, who oversaw the company's expansion into new markets and product lines. The book also includes rare photographs and advertisements, as well as insights from former Kimball employees and collectors of the company's instruments.Overall, Music For The Millions: The Kimball Piano And Organ Story offers a fascinating look at the history of one of America's most influential musical instrument manufacturers, and its lasting impact on the world of music. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
