Mump has never met an alien.
But he is absolutely certain aliens are terrifying.
According to the stories he has heard, aliens have laser eyes, metal teeth, and a habit of stealing socks. So when a tiny spaceship crashes into Crumbleberry Park, Mump is ready to hide behind the nearest tree.
Then he meets Bloop.
Bloop is a nervous little alien with glowing freckles, floppy ears, and a sneeze that sends tiny stars floating through the air. There is only one problem: Bloop is just as scared of monsters as Mump is of aliens.
When an important spaceship part called the Moonbeam Cog goes missing, Mump and Bloop must work together to find it. With help from brave and curious Lina Lark, cheerful Pippa Puddlefoot, and the forgetful but friendly Mayor Grumblebelly, the new friends follow a glittery trail through Monster Town, Echo Giggle Cave, and a kitchen filled with floating glowberries.
Along the way, they discover that rumors are not always true, asking questions is better than making guesses, and laughter can turn a scary stranger into a wonderful friend.
Mump and the Moonbeam Mix-Up is a funny, heartwarming early chapter book for children ages 6-8. Filled with silly monsters, a lovable alien, gentle suspense, friendship, kindness, and playful adventure, this standalone story is perfect for young readers who enjoy imaginative worlds, humorous characters, and meaningful stories about courage and accepting differences.
