Mr. Pratt is a novel written by Joseph C. Lincoln. The story is set in a small town on Cape Cod and centers around the life of Mr. Pratt, a wealthy and eccentric resident who has lived in the town for many years. The novel follows Mr. Pratt as he interacts with his neighbors, including the town doctor, the local newspaper editor, and a young woman who works in the town's library. Along the way, the reader learns about Mr. Pratt's past and the events that have shaped his life. The novel explores themes of community, friendship, and the importance of living life on one's own terms. With its vivid descriptions of life on Cape Cod and its engaging characters, Mr. Pratt is a charming and entertaining read that will appeal to fans of classic American literature. The Twins was pretty well wore out by this time, so neither of them would wash dishes. They chucked 'em into the kitchen sink and left them there. Then they put in three or four hours looking out of the window and swearing at the weather. I stayed in the armchair by the fireplace and did little or nothing but groan and rub alcohol on my lame shoulder. 'Twa'n't a joyful kind of experience, but 'twas the first real daytime rest I'd had since I got Naturalized. And, I own up, I got a good deal of comfort watching the Heavenlies try to do for themselves. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
