The Mother I Never Had is a true story dressed as a travel tale: a casino loss in Washington DC, a rooftop New Year in San José, a dog named Franky who understood consent better than most people, a night when the moon became a charging station, and a stranger outside a bathroom who needed exactly what the author had just been given. Beneath it all sits one quiet fact - a self-raised man, deep in the jungle, finally being mothered for the first time in his life.
Written during the retreat itself, with the ink and the memory both still wet, this is a raw, funny, and deeply spiritual account of dissolution and return. Some journeys end when you land. This one began there.
