The story of the Mosaic Covenant stands at the very heart of the drama of salvation. The Catholic mind, shaped by Scripture and Tradition, sees in this covenant a profound unity of divine revelation: the Old Testament is not a shadowy prelude to be forgotten, but a living testimony that finds its fulfillment-not its negation-in Christ. The Church Fathers, medieval scholastics, and modern magisterial documents all insist on this continuity. The God who revealed Himself to Moses is the same God who reveals Himself in Christ; the covenant at Sinai is part of the same salvific plan that culminates in the New Covenant sealed in the Blood of the Lamb.
