Kidder, the book explores the origins of Mormonism, including the visions and revelations that led to the formation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The author also delves into the social and cultural context in which the religion emerged, including the religious and political climate of the time. The book offers a detailed analysis of the beliefs and practices of the Mormons, including their distinctive doctrines such as the Book of Mormon and the concept of eternal marriage.
