An inspiring, deeply moving biographical tribute that proves a young king's light can never be dimmed.
In the vibrant heart of Atlanta, a multi-talented kid named Ocasio Cio Da Don Feliciano lived a life fueled by grand, boundless ambitions. He didn't just love the crack of a baseball bat hitting a home run, he was equally at home inside a music studio engineering hip-hop beats, deconstructing electronics with an engineer's curiosity, and mapping out worlds in his favorite video games. Guided by his devoted mother and his dedicated mentor, Coach CJ Stewart of the L.E.A.D. Center for Youth, Cio was rapidly charting his own brilliant course toward legacy and leadership.
But when the unprecedented isolation and disruption of the global pandemic brought systemic challenges to youth across the country, a sudden tragedy took Cio from his community far too soon.
Told with profound intimacy directly from Cio's perspective, More Than My Last Day addresses the heavy realities of youth gun violence and sudden loss with immense sociological grace, sociological truth, and deep spiritual hope. Featuring striking, emotionally resonant full-color illustrations, this groundbreaking picture book is an essential tool for bibliotherapy, processing trauma, and community healing. It stands as a brilliant blueprint for student-athletes and young creatives everywhere, offering comfort to grieving families while beautifully demonstrating that a child's purpose, promise, and love do not end, they multiply.
Are you ready to find your beat, play it loudly, and make your mark?
