Without the experiences and adventures of my brothers and sisters, this book wouldn't have the necessary condiments for an almost perfect recipe. When I started writing more than 20 years ago, I didn't think it would take this long nor be so complicated. This book doesn't read like a novel since it is cumulative and not progressive - each chapter is not necessarily a continuation of the one before, but rather a telling of a time in our lives that led to our family reunion. This is not merely a tale of my journey from Colombia to America. It is a true story about love, hardship, travel, adventure, tears, and ultimately, joy.
