In the ensuing struggle, Ambrose kills the nobleman in self-defense.The rest of the novel follows Ambrose as he tries to reconcile his actions with his faith and seeks forgiveness for his sins. He eventually returns to the monastery and becomes a respected member of the clergy.The Monk Wins is a story of love, faith, and redemption.
