A collection of miscellaneous poems contributed by various authors for a charity bazaar. The bazaar was held in aid of the building fund for the Longsight Literary and Mechanics Institution in Manchester on March 1, 1859. This volume offers a glimpse into the literary tastes and charitable endeavors of the era, showcasing a diverse range of poetic styles and themes.
Featuring works from both known and anonymous poets of the time, this anthology provides a fascinating snapshot of Victorian literary culture and the community spirit of Manchester. The poems reflect the social concerns and artistic sensibilities prevalent in mid-19th-century England, making it a valuable resource for researchers and enthusiasts of Victorian literature and social history.
