The Meuret family story begins in the early 1900s, when John Henry Meuret, a young man from France, settled near the Eau Claire River in Wausau, Wisconsin. He married Emma Augusta Koepp, and together they built a dairy farm from the ground up-raising four children, milking cows by hand, and delivering fresh milk to neighbors and local grocers by horse-drawn wagon.
They survived fires, floods, hard winters, and the relentless challenges of farming life. They rebuilt when the house burned. They adapted as machines replaced horses and the town grew around them. Their daughter Evelyn married Walter Osswald, tying the Meurets to the Osswald Grocery next door-and sealing a family legacy rooted in both land and community.
For over 150 years, the Meuret farm stood-not just as a business, but as a way of life built on work, honesty, and staying power. This story is theirs-and now, it's yours too.
