In Mark of the Vampire, filmed in 1935 at the all-powerful MGM Studios, Bela Lugosi's bloodsucker Count Mora and other ghouls are revealed, in a surprise finale, to be merely actors.
In Metro-Goldwyn-Vampire, however, the joke is on MGM. A real-life vampire haunts Hollywood, destroying victims with a horrific savagery and an unholy appetite. The vampire's prey of choice: The young actresses who had auditioned for the role of Mark of the Vampire's Luna, the Bat Girl.
Metro-Goldwyn-Vampire provides a colorful, factual re-creation of the shooting of the classic terror film. Spiked into the account is a fictional horror story in which troubleshooter Porter Down does battle with his worst nightmares.
